A bipod will both steady your hold and shift your rifle’s POI all at the same time. Yes, they look cool – especially on SAW’s. For a normally shoulder-fired long arm the, ‘solid rest’ is a much better idea.

If you want handguards with rails, then yes you should go and get a free floated one. It reduces the stringing caused by pressure to the barrel when you sling up your rifle to shoot.

The bullet takes x/1630 seconds to reach the target.
The sound of the gong takes x/330 seconds to get back to you.

You know that x/1630 + x/330 = 0. 725
From there, just use algebra to solve for x.

I think you will need to wait 5 years. The legal age in the US to buy a handgun is 21

In the meantime get a subscription to American Handgunner and join the NRA. When you reach 21 you will have a good idea of what you need.
